Current Project

Baja and California Virtual Conservation Training

2020- 2021

Produce a virtual training program to train a group of teachers in Mexico and the USA to use project-based learning to teach the fundamentals of conservation to their students. Baja California Sur and California share a single coast line. Along this coast both states enjoy rich fisheries, beautiful farm fields, and thriving tourism. We also share the responsibility to protect and preserve these natural assets. We will develop a fresh water curriculum for the virtual training. The curriculum teaches the where our fresh water comes from the water cycle); how much the eastern cape has now; how much we will need in 20 years; and what options we have meet that need. The curriculum will guide the teacher through the report and then provide lesson plans to develop projects for the students as well that conserve, protect, or produce fresh water.
