Community Partnership for Youth. Small groups of club members have volunteered time with disadvantaged youth at a local elementary school, helping with homework and reading. Those club members who are able to volunteer on a weekly basis have arranged to do so with the CPY volunteer coordinator. This will be an ongoing service opportunity for those club members who wish to be involved. The Service Committee has provided books to CPY to give to the children and will sponsor a book drive around the holiday season to collect gently used books. In addition, the club secured matching funds through the District that will enable CPY schools to apply for a $1,000 literacy grant to enable the purchase of additional books.
